Straws suck

Straws suck

When you order a drink, there’s a big chance there’s a straw in it. No need to ask for one, it’s part of the deal. And if you don’t use it, it gets thrown away. Total waste, and we rarely even want or need them!

THE PROBLEM

Plastic straws are too lightweight to recycle and loads of them end up in the ocean. Where they are polluting the water and killing marine life. Researchers estimate that 90 percent of all seabirds, whales, dolphins and sea turtles have ingested plastics, including straws. Ocean plastics eventually break into smaller fragments, where they are carried up the food chain, possibly concentrating toxic chemicals in predators. By the year 2050 it is estimated that we will have more plastic in the ocean than fish.

THE SOLUTION

Kiss my glass! Or your own, or anyone’s. Just stop using/selling/giving away plastic straws and save the planet. If you actually do need one or you work in a restaurant and want to offer one to children and people with physical challenges, please switch to a metal, bamboo or reed straw.

Thank you!
